Slax è il nuovo nome per la distribuzione Slackware-live, una distro live-on-cd basata su Slackware

Cambi dalla versione precedente:

- added Linux kernel 2.4.28-pre4 with SATA support
- added some missing cheatcodes to cheatcodes.txt on the CD
- added toram boot option, a synonym for copy2ram
- added X.org 6.8.1
- added KDE 3.3.1
- added KOffice 1.3.3
- added ndiswrapper 0.10 (allows using Windows drivers for wifi cards)
- added sudo, guest can start gui by using it
- added user "guest" with password "guest". Please understand that guest
is a non-root user so you can't start any software in SLAX which would
need root priviledges. GUI can be started (sudo is used).
- added noatun audio player
- added "noguest" boot parameter to disable guest user during boot
- added "norestore" boot parameter to disable autorestoring of saved config
- added "home=" boot parameter to mount root's home from file or device
- slax-install disables guest user account from SLAX installed to harddisk
You will need to execute "usermod -U guest" as root to enable it back.
- mouseproto boot option now affects GPM too.
- fixed "slax gui" boot parameter. Only guisafe and guifast were working.
- removed some KDE games, I'm sorry. kdemine won't be added.
- removed juk audio player, it crashed all the time ...
- stripped all unneeded symbols from KDE libraries to make KDE even smaller

Il team di Slax ha reso disponibili delle versioni "moddate" della distro: Kill Bill, Pop Corn e Professional, cui si aggiungeranno in futuro Hacker e Frodo. Lascio a voi scoprire di cosa si tratta.
